MarkoREALISM & PORTRAITURE Tattoo Artist in Los Angeles

Marko is the studio's portrait specialist. His likenesses are cinematic — Ragnar surrounded by Norse runes and a longship, Christ with the crown of thorns above a crucifixion scene, female faces layered with graffiti scribbles and paint drips.

Skin, eyes and lips carry an unusual amount of detail and the transitions stay extremely smooth, so the portrait reads as a photograph rather than a drawing. Mixing photoreal faces with graphic elements — lettering, drips, scribbles — keeps the composition modern instead of heavy.

Best suited to: portraits from photographs, memorial pieces, religious portraits, and large upper-arm or thigh compositions.
