Piercing in Los Angeles
KAZENTATTOO is a tattoo studio on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles that also offers piercing.
What we pierce: earlobe; cartilage, including helix, conch, daith, flat, rook and tragus; nostril; eyebrow; navel; lip; nipple.
Titanium jewellery is included in the price of every piercing.
Piercings are usually possible as a walk-in during opening hours, and you can also write to us in advance to make sure a piercer is free. We are open daily from 12:00 to 20:00 at 7224 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles.
Healing times differ by placement — a lobe settles far faster than cartilage does. We go through the aftercare with you at the appointment.
Planning Your Visit
Age
We tattoo and pierce adults only - 18 and over, no exceptions. California law makes tattooing anyone under 18 a misdemeanour (Penal Code 653) and the Safe Body Art Act sets the same limit (Health and Safety Code 119302). The state does allow piercing a minor with a parent or guardian present, and bans nipple and genital piercing on minors outright, but our own rule is simply 18 and over.
Consultation
Free. Text us, call the studio, or come in - the front desk answers the practical questions and the artist takes the design ones.
Booking and deposit
A deposit secures your date and comes off the final price. Some artists take walk-ins for small work; large projects are booked with a specific artist and often months ahead. Guest artists from other states and countries work here through the year.
Sessions
A working day usually runs from noon to around 6pm, sometimes 7pm, with breaks; artists set their own pace and their own day.
Touch-ups
A touch-up after healing is free when the artist judges the piece needs one - they will tell you at the end of the session or when you send healed photos.
Languages
Russian, English and Serbian are spoken in the studio.

Piercing Questions
Do you pierce with a needle or a piercing gun?
With a needle. A needle makes a clean opening through the tissue, while a piercing gun forces the jewellery through by blunt pressure, which is harder on the area and takes longer to settle. That is why needles are the standard in professional piercing studios.
What jewellery do you use for a fresh piercing?
Titanium. It is what fresh piercings are started with here, because it is well tolerated by the body while the piercing is healing.
Can I bring my own jewellery?
No. Anything that goes into a fresh piercing has to be sterile, and jewellery brought from outside cannot be verified as sterile. Your piercing is done with our titanium jewellery.
Is the follow-up check included?
Yes, the check-up after your piercing is free. Changing or downsizing the jewellery is sometimes a paid service depending on what is involved, so ask at the check-up.
